Find out more about
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is the most common treatment for severe obstructive sleep apnea. It assists ventilation (respiration) by delivering a constant stream of pressurized air to the mount /and or nose, thus keeping the airway open throughout the breathing cycle.
A CPAP consist of a bedside compressor, a hose, and a face mask.
The apparatus is worn at night to ensure constant, obstruction-free breathing.
In our center we use combination of several test (polygraphy, polysomnography, sleep endoscopy) to determine if CPAP - will be adequate treatment option in your particular case.
- Will reduce or stop snoring
- Non-surgical treatment
- Widely used in treatment of obstructive sleep apnea
CPAP masks come in all shapes and sizes.
There are four types of sleep apnea masks: nassal pillows, nasal masks, full-face masks and oral masks. Each mask fits slightly differently.
In consultation with our specialists, you will select the mask type that fits you best and the one you find most comfortable.
It is best if you try your CPAP mask while you're laying down as it is essential for the effectiveness to find the mask that suits you best and feels comfortable.
